A Better Night, A Better Day

Look up into the sky,
And suddenly,
There is comfort.

Let your eyes roam,
As you lay in the grass,
Staring at the night.

You feel like nothing is missing,
You feel like everything is missing.

The wind shifts your hair,
From atop your forehead,
Where it blocked your sight,
From the glittering stars.

A small smile graces your features.
It's peaceful.

The wind continues to falter,
Almost like it can't make up it's mind.
But you continue to stare up at the midnight sky,
Trying to see what it is you wish to find.

Hope,
That you will be okay.
Happiness,
Knowing that you will succeed.
Peace,
In a time of utter chaos.

You let your eyes slide shut,
But you still see the stars.
You can see them, aren't they there?
Keeping you safe from the outside world,
Where there is disaster everywhere?

Your arms fold in the back of your head,
And you let your mind slip away,
Sleep drowning your thoughts and doubts,
Because tomorrow will be a better day.

It's on these nights that you know,
That there will come a time,
When you will meet your savior.

And you lie there,
Waiting,
For a better day.
Even if you know,
That it won't stay that way,
And it won't ever be okay.
I assume all of you have done this at least once on a nice, summer night, or maybe in the middle of autumn or something? Er, well, just me assuming, still. That's not really a good thing though, isn't it? Mmn, philosophical questions....
